Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, Colorado is located in Central Colorado. The Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness was established with 1964 Wilderness Act and total size now is approximately 183,500 acres. Due to the popularity of recreation in the Maroon Valley, shuttle buses operate during the summer months (approximate mid-June through Labor Day, plus weekends in September) to Maroon Lake Wilderness Portal
